The HumiStat was a laboratory gas mixer and humidifier developed by NORECS for low-flow applications in materials science and fuel cell research. It combined two-gas dynamic mixing with water vapor addition in a single compact unit. The HumiStat has been discontinued.
FlowSeg is the successor product line. Gas mixing and humidification are now handled by two modular instruments used together, covering the same operating range with a more flexible and expandable architecture:
- 2Mix — two-gas (or more) dynamic mixer, same wide dynamic ratio range as the HumiStat mixing section
- 2Wet — PID-controlled humidifier and steam generator, direct pH2O control independent of carrier flow rate
The FlowSeg software supports the same programmable atmosphere sequences the HumiStat offered, with added features including re-dilution from mixed inputs, gas usage logging, and automated shutdown timers.
For ProboStat users, a dedicated page describes how 2Mix and 2Wet are configured for high-temperature electrochemistry measurements: ProboStat atmosphere control.
