The ProboStat™ is a passive sample holder and needs normally auxiliary equipment:
The cell connects directly to advanced instrumentation such as impedance spectrometers and has shield and guard as well as shield counter-current functionality for these. Simpler LCR instrumentation as well as DC instrumentation (potentiostats, galvanostats, multimeters, etc.) are also easily connected. Go to the Instrumentation page for more information and tips.
The ProboStat furthermore needs a temperature control system. Vertical tube furnaces of >4 cm inner diameter and 35 - 80 cm length are suitable. They should be mounted roughly with bottom at eye-height of operator (for best convenience), with 80-90 cm free space below. The cell may be inserted and held during measurement along a vertical bar mounted 5-10 cm behind the furnace opening, e.g. as part of a laboratory bar matrix. Alternatively, the simple mounting stand (when supplied) or similar lab stand may be used when it can rest on a benchtop underneath the furnace. Go to the Temperature Control page for more information and tips.
Finally, atmosphere control may be applied by the use of a gas control unit, such as a gas mixer. The cell in standard version connects to these via enclosed Swagelok quick-connects to 1/8'' tubing for gas inlets and outlets. NorECs may deliver various gas mixers with humidification and pressure control stages. See FCMix, ProGasMix, and "Probble" pages.
