What is a suitable bar sample size for use in the ProboStat cell?

Bar sample size can be up to to 50 mm length and up to 15 mm diameter or cross section.

For Seebeck coefficient and 4-point conductivity measurements we recommend 30 mm length and 5 mm cross section.

Measurement on smaller than recommended samples is possible, but may lead to less accurate results and difficulties in mounting the electrodes. For the four point conductivity measurement it is required to establish two (additional) electrode contacts along the bar, and to define the exact distance between them. For the Seebeck coefficient measurement a temperature gradient needs to be established. Both tasks are easier with the recommended sample size.
